Description: First Ride with ContourHD. Great Quality, had some issues but resolved most. Good Shots of Carlsbad coast and almost ran off road by Mercedes. Cam held in place on blast up freeway and picture remained clear. Needs to be able to power on and record with Charging.

Excellent, thanks for the help posting "support crew". BTW, the video quality improved greatly from the strobe effect to current smoothing when i used the easy edit software and clipped the video. I did not reduct it or cut any out just went through the clipping sequence and it smoothed out the picture. I have since made a couple of versions, edited and titled using Microsoft Movie Maker and Corel Unlead 11 Movie Studio Suite. I also downloaded Super (per tips page on support) but it's way to advanced for me, I do not understand all the video editing and compression, extensions etc yet, but hope to. .MOV is the native format which i believe is Mac/QuickTime. I've had success saving as .AVI, .WMV and corel .VSP. More to come. Working out a solution to be able to charge the unit while filming. Apparantly there is a problem with the cable supplied, it has mini usb with data and the camera shuts off when it senses the data input so I'm trying to find or make a cable that supplies power but not data transfer so i can run it charging for hours at a time for long runs. USB to Mini-B without data is what I'm searching for.

That video looks really great, picture is awesome, looks like a money day for a ride.
Great video!! I like it. Nice bike also!!! :)
This is a GREAT camera and concept, no moving parts, SD Mini/Micro Chips, will soon charge and video at same time but sadly I have had to make the decision to return it and await for a next generation that will allow charging without drilling a hole in the back door flap to allow the mini usb cable to charge without exposing the entire back of the camera, allowing in elements, moisture etc and did not want to wrap a plastic bag and rubber band around my brand new camera. I suspect that with a little time and attention to some very constructive comments us users have submitted via the forums, emails and phone calls, some changes will be made to make this great camera even better and usable for multiple disciplines. I look forward to buying that generation model. Please move the Mini USB in to another location with it's own swing open door so if chosen to use as a charging unit while video capturing this can be accomplished more securely and easily. Thanks to all on board and those in the company for all your assistance. Thanks for posting this captured video also.

OK, so here is the deal.
I've been testing another camera for the past couple weeks, also been working with some software programs, which all are pretty hard to use or not very good and have reached a frustration point with them. Bottom Line, for the type of camera I am looking for, this Contour HD is hands down a product that deliveres professional quality video while on the move even at high speeds and bumpy roads with the most realistic view that can represent the feeling of being on a touring motorcycle.
Went to the Apple store and put up the ContourHD video and the exact same route video shot on another camera side by side on a 24" monitor and ran them. No contest. So I just ordered a new Macbook Pro 17 with extra TB storage, 7200rpm drive and Final Cut Studio 2 full version. Now there is no excues that I can think of for not producing some great video's. I still would like to have some assistance from Tech Support to work out some solutions with charging on the fly while recording and develop some type of lens protector (clear) to use while recording. Will post something soon as quickly as the computer, software and a new CountourHD can arrive.
Thanks Tia, Tony and everybody involved, I look forward to capturing some great digital video and producing some cool clips as soon as I can figure it all out.

Hopefully I can get you a new video on the New 2010 Road Glide Custom but the availability of cameras is slim. Anybody out there know who has a stock of cameras?
Thanks for the views, thumbs up and thanks to VholdR for posting this.
Great Camera, Cannot wait until I can get multiple ones soon to provide some split views, front/rear etc...
Also going to work with audio.
