A new company, eMotionCam, is offering our HD helmet cameras for rent for the first time this winter at Heavenly, Kirkwood, Mammoth Lakes, Squaw Valley and several other resorts across the Western U.S. The cost is $35 a day and the rental is good for two hours of footage. Once you are finished shooting, you simply return the camera to the rental kiosk. The footage is then downloaded to a data DVD, USB stick, or MicroSD Card. You will no longer have to tell your story at the bar...Now you can show off your feats in high definition video!

We here at VHoldR wouldn't be where we are today if it weren't for Dick Barrymore. Barrymore, one of the great ski filmmakers in American history, was a pioneer in creating some of the first helmet cameras and in demonstrating the power of POV video. We decided to honor Barrymore's memory with our First Annual POV Awards. Five shooters were selected for Top Producer, Golden Thumb (most thumbs up), Chatty Cathy (most comments), Popular (most views) and the Dick Barrymore POV Award, which was selected as the "editors choice" for the most influential POV video on VholdR.com in 2009.
